Lawn and Garden Maintenance
Gardens at their best when kept trimmed and well fed. Our regular maintenance service keeps your garden in an attractive, healthy condition. We’ll take care of:
- Lawn mowing and feeding.
- Weed removal and treating
- Environmentally friendly pest control.
- Plant and shrub trimming.
- Leaf-blowing and patio sweeping.
Spring and Fall Cleanups
Most lawns need more than just mowing to keep them looking their best. We provide:
- Dethatching – remove moss and dry grass from the healthy, green blades. Moss can reduce the amount of water and nutrients that reach the lawns roots, creating a faded, dry grass. We make sure to scarify in at least two directions to thoroughly remove as much moss and thatch material as possible. This can then be added to your compose heap.
- Aeration – This alleviates compact soil and opens up the roots to feeding and more effective over-seeding.
- Tree pruning and debris removal – Keep your property looking tidy all year round.
- Top-dress, fertilize and over seed – Finally we apply in a mixture of potassium nitrate fertilizer and new grass seed to feed your current lawn and also encourage new, health growth. This falls through the aerated holes and reaches well into the roots making a durable, strong grass. We then apply a top-dressing, made of sand, soil and organic materials. This is then brushed in and germination takes approximately 2 weeks.
Organic Gardening
We strongly believe gardens should be treat as nature intended – using nothing but hard work, care and all natural materials. We never use any synthetic fertilizers or wildlife-harming pesticides. A garden is an eco-system and manipulating elements such as the soil, water or insects can devastate the natural balance of a garden. Removing some pests can see the increase of others that attack and eat plants. Pesticides can make there way into the water table or soil and wreak havoc on plants.We work in harmony with a gardens natural cycle and minimize our effect on the environment by recycling grass cuttings and re-using rainwater.
Vegetable Gardens
We’ll plant you an idyllic vegetable garden and help you towards becoming self-sufficient. We also advise all clients on basic watering and feeding needs.
